Chaldea (/kælˈdə/), from Auncient Greek: Χαλδαία, Chaldaia; Akkadian: māt Kaldu/Kašdu; Ebreu: כשדים‎‎, Kaśdim;[1] Aramaic: ܟܠܕܘ‎, Kaldo, an aa spelled Chaldaea, wis a smaa Semitic naition that emerged atween the late 10t an early 9t century BC, survivin until the mid 6t century BC, efter which it disappeared as the Chaldean tribes war absorbed intae the native population o Babylonie.[2]
